Talent Search 2019

Talent Search 2019

The Bloem Show Computicket Talent search competition is back in town with the quest to unearth Mangaungs’ treasured youth. With the great success over the past five years we find that the previous winners are still reaping the rewards of their hard work and passion. The competition is presented in conjunction with Computicket, the Department of sports, arts, culture and recreation and the Golden Bean Free State Music Awards.

Auditions for the competition will be held on Saturday, 9 March 2019 at the Civic theatre. Registration is compulsory from 8:00 – 13:00 and only the first 100 contestants will be judged. Participants will be evaluated by a panel of expert judges who are on the look-out for individuals or groups with a creative edge and a flair for performing either singing or dancing.

Contestants are advised to take note of the following conditions prior to auditioning:

  • Only dancing and singing will be allowed.
  • Performance may not be longer than 3 minutes.
  • No bands are allowed, only “back tracks” and acoustics.
  • Participants must be between the ages of 18 and 30 with no professional experience.

The winner will be awarded a well deserving R10 000 cash, with the second place runner-up receiving R5 000 and the third place winner gets R2 500. The remaining 7 finalists will also receive R500 in cash.

20 Semi-finalists will be shortlisted and then go through to the semi-finals on Saturday, 27 April 2019 at the Wimpy stage at Bloem Show.

The final concert where the winners will be announced will be held on Tuesday, 30 April at 18:00 at Bloem Show’s Wimpy stage.

These finalists will also get the chance to participate in the category of “Best newcomer” at the annual Golden Bean Free State Music awards later this year, thus contestants are urged to take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity.
