Bloem Show’s 67minutes contribution for Nelson Mandela

Bloem Show personnel like the rest of the country, gathered early this morning to spend 67mintues doing good for others in commemoration of Nelson Mandela. This year breakfast was made for the security and maintenance staff at the show grounds.Furthermore, the kind gesture was extended to the community of Bainsvlei whereby groceries, stationary and toys where delivered to Lerato Creche which is the only daycare centre in the area, by Bloem Show personnel. The crèche is run by Aletta Ntsioa, who opened its doors in 1995 in order to uplift the community and offer a safe haven for children, especially those without parents. Aletta is no stranger to community service; she is also a qualified pastor and does not let her background or any situation hold her back. In 2005, Aletta was chosen as Bloemfonteiner of the Year, a very prestigious award for trailblazers in the community who go beyond their call of duty. Her vision was to upgrade the standard of life for the local children, give them aplace to learn and play, while growing in a safe environment. The crèche looks after 40 children, of which 10 are permanent residents and 30 are day scholars.
